Using EMI Cal Hub

Are the calculators on EMI Cal Hub really free?

Yes. Every calculator is free to use with no sign-up, no subscription and no limit on the number of calculations.

Do you store the numbers I enter?

No. All calculations happen in your browser. The amounts you type are not sent to or saved on our servers.

Why do I need to choose a currency first?

Choosing a currency sets the symbol and number format, for example lakhs and crores for rupees or thousands and millions for dollars. Your choice is remembered on every other calculator you open.

Can I download the repayment schedule?

Yes. Most loan and investment calculators include a Download CSV button that you can open in Excel or Google Sheets.

Do the calculators work on mobile phones?

Yes. Every tool is designed for phones, tablets and computers, with touch-friendly sliders and inputs.

Loans & EMI

Will my bank's EMI match the calculator exactly?

It should be very close. Small differences can come from processing fees, insurance, rounding, the exact disbursement date or daily interest calculations.

What is the difference between flat and reducing interest rates?

A flat rate charges interest on the original loan for the full tenure, while a reducing rate charges interest only on the remaining balance. The same headline rate costs much more on a flat basis. Our EMI guide shows a worked example.

Is it better to choose a longer or shorter loan tenure?

A shorter tenure means higher EMIs but much less total interest. A longer tenure lowers the EMI but increases the total cost. Choose the shortest tenure you can comfortably afford.

Does prepaying a loan reduce interest?

Yes. Extra payments reduce the principal, so future interest is lower. Prepaying early in the loan saves the most. Check for any prepayment charges first.

How do floating interest rates affect my EMI?

When a floating rate changes, lenders usually adjust either your EMI or your remaining tenure. Recalculate with the new rate to see the effect.

Investments & savings

Are the returns shown by the SIP and lumpsum calculators guaranteed?

No. They assume a constant rate of return that you enter. Real market returns vary from year to year and can be negative.

What is the difference between FD and RD?

A fixed deposit takes a lump sum upfront, while a recurring deposit lets you save a fixed amount every month. Both usually earn a fixed rate.

Why should I consider inflation when planning?

Inflation reduces what your money can buy over time. Planning goals in future prices, and aiming for returns above inflation, helps protect your real wealth.

Tax & other tools

Which tax slabs does the income tax calculator use?

You enter the slabs yourself, so it works for any country and any year. The pre-filled values are only an example; replace them with your country's current official slabs.

Where do the currency converter rates come from?

The converter can load a free reference rate from an online exchange-rate service, or you can type the exact rate your bank or exchange offers.

Is the zakat calculator suitable for every school of thought?

It follows commonly used methods for general guidance. Rulings on some assets differ, so please consult a qualified scholar for your situation.
